I teach a wide variety of photography workshops that offer real-world experience in a creative learning environment while out in the field.

These are designed for photographers of all skill levels and aim to help you take your photography and digital editing skills to the next level. 2022 UPDATE: Kids workshops are available as well.

If you do not see a workshop that you are interested in, you can have a private workshop customized to your needs. I’m based out of Squamish BC, but I travel around the world and host workshops in tropical places like Bali, cities around Europe, the coast of California, and the beautiful mountains of British Columbia.

All-women photography workshop, right here in beautiful Squamish BC, organized by Alenka Mali. She’ll provide easy-to-understand in-field photography instruction and “back-of-camera” critique to help ensure you’re coming away with images you’ll be excited to share with friends and family.

This workshop is designed exclusively for women of all ages and skill levels who are interested in lifestyle, portrait, and nature photography. It’s a chance to spend some time together in nature in a fun and relaxed environment, learning tips and techniques to improve your photography.

For all the women who want to:

– Learn the basics of portrait and lifestyle photography
– Connect with other women in the Sea To Sky
– Have the skills with taking pictures but would like to understand their camera better and work with the triangle of light like a pro! (ISO, aperture, and shutter speed!)
– Learn how to use photography for professional content creation in their business
– Learn how to use the Adobe Lightroom like a pro
– Have fun, disconnect for a minute, and learn a useful skill

– 3-hour group photography lesson with 1:1 coaching, portrait and lifestyle focus with an option of learning how to shoot products and product placement in lifestyle photography
– 45 min Lightroom lesson, the basics of editing, exporting, and organizing your files

My past workshops

Portrait photography is often considered an art form that involves capturing facial expressions, personality, or mood of your subject or group using composition, lighting, and backgrounds. Portraiture is seen by some photographers as an artistic representation of a subject’s attitude. Portraiture is by far the most common form of photography and creating compelling portraits requires in part the ability to connect with people.

In this weekend workshop, we will go over the advanced techniques of portrait photography and starting your own business as a photographer.

This class is tailored toward beginners and is perfect for those who are looking to improve their portrait photos.

What will we learn?

Learn about the essence of Travel Photography and the kinds of qualities that professional photojournalists seek to embody in their images for publication.

What to wear, how to fit in or how to stand out.

What kinds of cameras, lenses, and equipment are available and best suited for travel photography.

How to predict in advance, the best times and locations to find the images and subject matter that interests you.

Learn what characteristics make a great photo.

Learn how to travel “light” or how to travel “heavy.”

Creating a sense of depth in your images.

How to feature or incorporate built structures into your travel images.

Getting better photographs from a car, bus, train, or airplane.

Digital camera equipment, or film in any format (including 4×5 and larger) can be used. You can choose to shoot in black and white or color. 

I will be in touch a few weeks before the workshop and provide specific advice on getting prepared which includes suggestions specific to the camera equipment you plan on using.
