“When was the last time you totally disconnected and spent some significant time with yourself” I’m thinking to myself. Our second part of the journey began on a Sunday morning, leaving the lousy streets of Mendoza behind us and entering a more mountainous landscape, towards Spa & Wellness Cacheuta.
I travel for sports. And work. I feel like traveling has become so regular to me, that I almost forgot to enjoy it. A must in the life of a gypsy if you want. But I actually do enjoy it. When I tune in, leave my phone or camera behind I can finally take in the culture, meet new people and explore the areas I’m seeing for the first time, and maybe the last. It’s a special connection. I also knew how much it would make my grandfather happy, to see these beautiful parts of Mendoza and San Juan, so that was the second part of the reason why we embarked on the trip.

Spa and Wellness Cacheuta
Terme Cacheuta is a beautiful and huge complex, located in the mountains of Cacheuta, in the heart of a thermal water source. The spa smoothly blends in with the beautiful landscape, overlooking at the river and the mountains. A group of stone-made natural pools makes you feel like at hot springs in California, with different temperatures and hydrotherapies. They have saunas and hot stone massages, mud baths and massages twice a day even.
It just so happened I was in my days during the time of my traveling! In these moments, I really appreciated my decicion of switching to a menstrual cup, instead of keep using pads or tampons. I have kept my period waste-free for about 2 years now and I absolutely LOVE IT.
I use RubyCup at home while traveling and in between any sports expedition.
All through, this isn’t my type of vacation, I really enjoy it here, unwind. Relax. The upcoming winter season will be both mentally and physically demanding, so I want to really relax my body before we head into it. Here’s a hot minute of me doing yoga by the pool:
