18 AND GOLDEN

I don’t want to say that today is just like any other day because it’s my birthday, but I guess today really is, just like any other.

Yesterday was the Gaper day on Whistler mountain and, as traditionally, my friends and I were riding park the whole day and had a golden sunny blast with everyone. Stoked on summer, but sad that the season is coming to the end. Later on, we continued partying at Longhorn’s bar, a classic apres ski spot and later a couple more other places throughout the night. I turned 18 at midnight. And that is the reason why I’m sitting by the pool, enjoying the sunshine and writing this post right now.

It’s been about 2 years since I left my home and started this crazy new life on the other side of the planet.  I tried to think and figure out how do I deserve all this? What did I do, that was so good, that I deserve to enjoy my life every single day, 24/7? I’m attending school on paper, but my days are spent riding the mountain and biking around Squamish. Through the past couple of years, I traveled to so many places and met great people from all over the place, I got to know many different cultures and saw so many mountains and different landscapes. I’ve traveled, hitchhiked, lived simply, worked hard so I could afford to see more places, captured the most amazing moments in my life, did crazy things I didn’t see my self-doing a year ago…

And what I’m realizing more and more, is that all this mess that I call my life – it was all because of me and my crazy wanderlust driven mindset.

Of course, many thanks to my parents and family and friends for all the support and amazing childhood. But my point is, that I followed my dreams, made a plan, worked hard (still do) to make this happen. To live a life that I feel blessed every day for having it. Being the happiest I’ve been while growing and learning every day. And the best part is, that everyone can do it! As long as you set your mind to it and as long as you’re determent on what you want to do in your life, you can create your life. The life that you’ll feel blessed every day for having it!

Tomorrow morning I’m leaving for New York for a while, to explore the East side for the first time in my life. Beyond hyped for that. Stay tuned for the funky art posts.
